Why Coaching?

As the first entry for “Jen’s Journal”, I thought I would simply share why I’m doing this? Why life coaching? Well, honestly, I think our world, and most importantly, women need to learn and be in touch with our emotional health and wellbeing. As a woman who grew up Catholic, having a very close relationship with my Uncle Mike, who was both a priest and a psychologist, I had the privilege of exploring my spirituality in a way that most people do not. I was exposed to faith in so many ways and encouraged to explore it - that “religion” is man-made and therefore can be flawed, but that our spirit is something that is divinely given and can not be taken away.  I love my day job and as I have observed both students and parents “launch” into the “real world” after high school, I have become more and more convinced that we all need to take some time to be seen and heard so that we can really know what is best for us as individuals, for our families and collectively, I think we all need to learn to see that we are in the care of each other on this planet.  The Adult Chair model, podcast, membership program have supported me as I navigated life and all its ups and downs. The foundation of it, is that we all have value and worth, just by being human. My intention in becoming a coach is to give me a vehicle that allows me to support women in developing their sense of self worth, discerning their own path and learning how to exercise their intuition.  You won’t find me doing lots of social media or trying to convince you that I have the answers to any or all of your challenges. I know that I wished I had known about The Adult Chair in my 20’s and in my 30’s and now, I use it as I approach decade number 5! I am open to where this takes me and who it brings into my path. Coaching with The Adult Chair Model is something I find to be a sweet balance of simple psychology and grounded spirituality, and I’m going to enjoy the journey.  I will use this section of my website to share musings that I have as I sit in my adult chair and learn ... .hoping that from these you may be able to relate or learn something as well.

Love & Light,

Jen
